FAQS ABOUT YANKEE HOME CARE
Answers to our Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between home care and home health care?
Home care provides non-medical support for daily life — personal care, companionship, meals, housekeeping, and transportation. Home health care involves medical services provided by licensed clinical professionals such as nurses or therapists. Yankee Home Care provides non-medical home care.
What does private pay home care mean?
Private pay home care means care is arranged directly between you and Yankee Home Care. Families choose the services, the schedule, and when care begins. Some families use long-term care insurance to help cover the cost we can work with you on that.
What areas do you serve?
Yankee Home Care serves Ipswich, Hamilton, Wenham, Topsfield, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Essex. If you are not sure whether we serve your community, please call us.
How does care get started?
Contact us to arrange a complimentary in-home consultation. We come to you! The conversation is confidential, and there is no obligation.
Can services be combined?
Yes. Services are flexible and can be combined based on individual needs. Care is designed to fit naturally into daily life, not delivered as a fixed package.
How do you select and screen caregivers?
Caregivers are screened carefully for both skill and character. All caregivers undergo rigorous background checks, and Yankee Home Care maintains full insurance coverage.
How do you match caregivers?
We take time to understand each client's routines, preferences, and personality before suggesting a match. Caregivers are selected with the individual in mind, not just availability. We introduce caregivers personally on their first visit and stay involved long after care begins.
What is the YHC Family Room?
The YHC Family Room is a secure online portal that keeps everyone connected by bringing together updates, scheduling, and visit information, providing families and caregivers with shared visibility.
